The illustrations for The Three Colors of Katie are the work of Kathy Farina, a freelance artist who lives in Glen Ellyn, Illinois with her husband Len and Chica, a seven pound Chihuahua who keeps them both in line.  She is the proud mother of two and grandmother of three.
