Dr. Lisa Stock Dr. Lisa Stock is Dean of Learning Resources at College of DuPage and an academic library leader for more than twenty years. She earned her PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy at Iowa State University, where her research centered on information literacy education. She has an MA in Library Science from the University of Iowa, and a B.S. in Child Development from Iowa State University. In her previous position as Director of Learning Resources at Des Moines Area Community College, she established the DMACC Information Literacy Forum, an annual statewide event. A champion of information literacy education for people of all ages for many years, Lisa has presented on information literacy topics at Iowa Library Association, Illinois Library Association, and has provided workshops by request.
Dr. Jean Donham Dr. Jean Donham is Associate Professor in School Library Studies at The University of Northern Iowa Division of School Library Studies and the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. Her doctorate is in Educational Administration from the University of Iowa, her M.L.S. is from the University of Maryland, and she earned a B.A. in English and Secondary Education, also from the University of Iowa. Prior to arriving at Northern Iowa, Jean was College Librarian/Professor at Cornell College, a selective liberal arts college in Iowa. Previously, Jean was Associate Professor of Library and Information Science at The University of Iowa, where she taught courses in school librarianship, children’s resources, information literacy, research methods, and multimedia.
Jean is the author of numerous articles and books, both scholarly and practical. Her most recent book is Enhancing Teaching and Learning; A Leadership Guide for School Library Media Specialists, published by Neal Schuman in 2008. She coauthored Inquiry-Based Learning: Lessons from Library Power with Kay Bishop, Carol Collier Kuhlthau, and Dianne Oberg in 2001.
Dane Ward Dane Ward is Associate Dean of Public Services at Illinois State University's Milner Library. A frequent workshop presenter and author of articles on information literacy, organizational culture, and collaboration, Ward has been a faculty member of ACRL’s Institute for Information Literacy. He also serves as Director of the Illinois Center for Information Literacy and as a Board Member of the National Forum on Information Literacy. In 2000, he co-edited and co-authored the popular ACRL publication, The Collaborative Imperative: Librarians and Faculty Working Together in the Information Universe. Previous to his current position, he worked in academic libraries for ten years, including positions as Coordinator of Information Literacy at Wayne State University and Coordinator of Library Instruction at Central Michigan University. He is a graduate of Indiana University and Florida State University.
