Penny Mandziara Penny Mandziara started her library career as a circulation clerk at the Bensenville Public Library, and received her LTA certification from College of DuPage. Edward Martinez Edward Martinez is the Public Access Librarian at El Camino College in Torrance, California, as well as the editor of Library Mosaics, the magazine for library support staff. He received his MLS from Berkeley, and his background includes several support staff positions and public and community college library work in Hawaii. Martinez is editor for Library Mosaics, the magazine for library support staff. He is nationally known as a champion of the support staff movement. Michael McColgin Michael McColgin is the Conservation Officer with the State of Arizona Department of Library, Archives and Public Records, State Capital History and Archives Division. Mr. McColgin is also the Vice President/President-Elect of the Society of Southwest Archivists, and well-known for his expertise in conserving paper documents and disaster recovery. He has numerous publications concerning disaster prevention, planning, and recovery; as well as preserving paper and photographs. Michael participated in the following teleconference:
Sarah McCord Sarah McCord is the Electronic Resources and Reference Librarian at the Washington State University Health Sciences Library in Pullman, Washington, and an Affiliate Faculty Instructor in the Department of Medical Education at the University of Washington in Seattle. Sarah was also Chair of the Medical Library Association Pharmacy and Drug Information Section in 2004. Her current research interests include improving health information literacy though instuction and the appropriate use of technology, and improving access to current health care information for health care providers serving migrant and seasonal worker communities. Rob McGee Rob McGee holds graduate degrees in both library and computing science and has been at the forefront of library automation since 1965. He produced system requirements, system designs, technical plans, and library automation while at the University of Chicago. Mr. McGee founded RMG Consultants, Inc., a consulting firm that helps libraries plan, procure, and implement automated systems. Howard F. McGinn Howard F. McGinn, Ph.D., MBA, is Dean of University Libraries at Seton Hall University. Before that he was Dean of Libraries at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Director of the Emporia (KS) Public Library, City Librarian of New Haven, CT, and State Librarian of North Carolina. In a previous life he was General Manager of a New York Times Company subsidiary, and the National Media Sales Manager, J.B. Lippincott Publishing Company. Susan McGlamery Susan McGlamery is the Reference Coordinator for the Metropolitan Cooperative Library System, a consortium of 40 public libraries located in Los Angeles and Orange County. Chandra McKenzie Chandra McKenzie is a SUNY Buffalo and Rochester Institute of Technology alumna with dual Master’s Degrees in Instructional Technology and Library Science. Ms. McKenzie served as Associate Director of RIT’s Wallace Library for fourteen years. She was named Assistant Provost and Director of RIT Libraries in 2001. William Miller William Miller has directed libraries in Ohio and Florida for more than 20 years, and has published several articles in Library Issues: Briefings for Faculty and Administrators on the importance of the library as a place. He believes passionately that electronic resources merely enhance the status and importance of the library, both as a place and as a resource, and observes that people of all walks of life intuitively understand why libraries exist and what their missions and values are. Paul Mills Paul Mills is the Manager of Technical Services with the Prairie Area Library System in Shorewood, Illinois. Mary Minow Mary Minow is an attorney, consultant, and a former librarian and library trustee. Mary has taught library law at the San Jose State School of Library Science, and was President on the board of CALTAC, the California Association of Library Trustees and Commissioners,in 2002; she now serves as its Policy Analyst. Mary is the coauthor with Tomas Lipinski of The Library's Legal Answer Book (2003), and the first recipient of the California Library Association's Zoia Horn Intellectual Freedom Award, given in 2004. James Neal James G. Neal is currently the Vice President for Information Services and University Librarian at Columbia University, and also works with the Electronic Publishing Initiative at Columbia (EPIC) and the Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning (CCNMTL). He serves on key academic, technology, budget and policy groups at the University. Jim is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, consultant and published researcher with a focus in the areas of scholarly communication, intellectual property, digital library programs, organizational change, staff turnover, and fundraising. He has worked on the editorial boards of journals in the field of academic librarianship, and has worked on copyright policy and advisory groups for universities and professional and higher education associations. Nancy O'Neill Nancy O'Neill is the Principal Librarian of Reference Services at the Santa Monica Public Library in Santa Monica, California. Lester Park Lester Park is the Community Services Librarian at the Bensenville Community Public Library District located in Bensenville, Illinois, just southwest of O'Hare International Airport. Les is a graduate of San Jose State University in San Jose, California, where he earned a BA in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Political Science and International Economics. Prior to joining the Bensenville Library, Les was the Chief Information Officer for the Chiron Corporation, a biotech company in Northern California where he was responsible for Commercial Information Technology and Information Services as well as the Corporate Library. In addition to his community outreach activities at the Library, Les serves on the Boards of the Bensenville Arts Council and the Bensenville Chamber of Commerce and Industry and supports Literacy Programs in the area. Josie Parker Josie Parker has worked in several public library systems. Jenny Pompe Jenny Pompe received her BFA and MFA from the School of the Art Institute, and her art incorporates textile techniques such as weaving and embroidery, as well as drawing, photography, and book making to explore issues that include religion, politics, feminism, and labor.
