Steven J. Bell

Steven is Director of the Paul J. Gutman Library at Philadelphia University. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Director of the Lippincott Library of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He obtained his Doctorate in Education in 1997 from the University of Pennsylvania, and his Master of Science in Library Science from Drexel University in 1977. He writes and speaks frequently on topics such as keeping up for personal professional development, library technology, and academic librarianship. An Adjunct Professor at the Drexel University College of Information Science and Technology, he teaches courses in online searching, academic librarianship and business information resources. His latest articles include “The Blended Librarian: A Blueprint For Redefining The Teaching And Learning Role Of Academic Librarians” (co-authored with John Shank), published in College & Research Libraries News 65(7):372-375, July/August 2004, and “End PowerPoint Dependency Now!” published in American Libraries 35 (6): 56-59, June/July, 2004.

 


Aaron Schmidt

Aaron Schmidt is the author of the weblog walkingpaper.org where we writes about library technology and library usability.  As webmaster of the Thomas Ford Memorial Library, he uses weblog software to manage the library's website. He has presented internationally on the topic of library technologies, including instant messaging, weblogs, and information gadgets. He was selected as a 2005 Library Journal Mover and Shaker.
