About this Series

Soaring to Excellence

Soaring to Excellence is the innovative series of teleconferences for library staff developed by Linda Slusar and Bernard Fradkin of College of DuPage. Now in its 14th year, Soaring to Excellence continues to provide timely, relevant information for library staff and professionals alike.

Linda Slusar is the cofounder of the Soaring to Excellence Teleconferences and the coordinator of the Library Technical Assistants program at College of DuPage and a full-time professor in the program. In addition to course planning and development for the LTA Program, She also provides advising for LTA students, and has expanded the college’s course offerings to include internet courses, two-way video courses, and satellite teleconferences. Ms. Slusar was voted the winner of Library Mosaics "Supporter of Support Staff" for the year 2000, and is devoted to providing educational opportunities for library staff.

Pam Klein is your host.

This library teleconference series is more than another training event:

  • It is staff development in the best sense of the term.
  • It keeps your staff current on library issues and technologies.
  • It gives them a solid framework for problem solving in today's complex library environment.
  • It is a cost-effective way for staff to stay current and informed about these issues.
